Care Instructions:

Caring for a wool mattress pad or mattress topper is easy. Always use a quality sheets and bedding to cover to help protect the wool mattress pad. Wool is self cleaning, naturally resisting odours, bacteria and allergens. Avoid washing your duvet unless necessary, for example if it gets very soiled or spilt on.

Regular maintenance: Every 1-3 months air out your wool duvet in the sunshine, while washing the rest of your bedding is a good time. Some of the natural oils from the sheep remain in the wool after processing, you may notice a gentle scent. We love adding a few drops of essential oils for some added freshness at this time.

For a deep cleaning: Fill a large sink or bathtub with lukewarm water adding a small amount of wool specific detergent like Eucalan (available here). Gently press your duvet or mattress pad into the water to submerge, and allow it to soak for 15 minutes. Repeat a gentle pressing and squashing motion up and down in the water. Ensure you never agitate wool, this will cause the wool to felt! Repeat as needed until the water runs clear. Gentle squeeze out as much water as possible. You can use the spin cycle on your washing machine. Hang to air dry.  

Please ensure you follow these instructions as carefully as possible, it is important to always use only lukewarm water and be gentle and never agitate wool. This will always cause the wool to felt and become clumpy.
